DAY 1 - DEPARTURE

Departure from the U.S.A.

DAY 2 - YANGON

The group arrives in Yangon (a.k.a. Rangoon), Myanmar Airport. Meet your English-speaking guide, who will help with airport formalities and transfer to Jasmine Palace Hotel (check-in 2:00 PM). If you fly separately, a private transfer may be arranged.

DAY 3 - YANGON

Discover Yangon, by taking the Circular Train from central station, and for 30 minutes, observe the various neighborhoods. Disembark at Kyee Myin Daine station & continue your tour through this typical district and to the local market.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda with its 72meter reclining Buddha, the Royal Lake in Kandawgyi Park. Catch a view of Karaweik Hall (royal barge), and Golden Shwedagon Pagoda, that you will fully visit later on.

DAY 4 - YANGON - BAGAN

After breakfast, and your flight to Bagan, you’ll enjoy this city of splendid temples. You’ll be introduced to the Burmese culture through its traditional craftsmen (lacquer ware and wood crafts). In the afternoon, visit a Buddhist monastery school, and end the day with a memorable sunset over the fields and pagoda of Bagan, seen from the heights of the temple plains.

 

DAY 5 - BAGAN

Start the day with a visit at Ananda Temple, followed at 10:30, by the hidden monastery, where monks line up for their daily alms distribution. From Shwe Nan Yin Taw temple will journey by horse cart among the temples to Taungbi village. At the library, you will be welcomed by the local kids and their families. In the evening, you’ll find yourself onboard a local boat, for an incredible dinner.

DAY 6 - ON CRUISE

Embark Cruise in Bagan. At 11:30 am, you’ll embark for a cruise along the Ayeyarwady River. Starting from Ayeya jetty, you’ll get to appreciate this mighty river, and visit a few ports along the way. First stop: Pakokku with its market, pagodas and weaving shops.

DAY 7 - ON CRUISE

In the morning you’ll reach Yandabo Village, the site of the 1826 Anglo-Burma peace treaty signing. Now a pottery village, you’ll discover the old techniques of clay crafting. Later on, you’ll visit Pandaw School.

DAY 8 - MANDALAY

At 9:00 am, you’ll disembark in Mandalay, and start an orientation tour: Mandalay Hill and Palace, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, Kuthodaw Pagoda, Shwenandaw Monastery. Continue your guided tour with a visit at Mahamuni Pagoda, and browse through the numerous craft workshops. Drive to Amarapura and enjoy this city at sunset from aboard a local boat.

 

DAY 9 - MANDALAY - SAGAING - MANDALAY

Cross the Irrawaddy River into Sagaing, the spiritual hub of the country, with its 600 ivory colored pagodas and monasteries. On your way back, stop in the small village of Kan Daw, where dwellers are producing longyis and other textiles. Next it’s on to Ava, the old capital (14th to 18th century). Traveling with a traditional horse and carriage, discover the renowned Bagaya Monastery, and see Nanmyint WatchTower, before ending the day’s sightseeing at Shwe Kyin Monastery.

DAY 10 - MANDALAY - HEHO - INLE LAKE

After breakfast, be ready for your departure to the airport for your flight to Heho. From Heho, a 1-hour scenic drive will take you to Nyaung Shwe, gateway town to Inle Lake, with narrow streets, temples, tea shops, and workshops specialized in traditional Shan paper and unique umbrellas. A private motorboat will take you to the spectacular Inle Lake, and the local Intha people. You will also visit Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery. Overnight stay on Inle Lake.

 

DAY 11 - INLE LAKE (Indein Village)

Today, you’ll start with the lake’s morning market, then experience the local, traditional agricultural methods, followed by a lunch at Inthar Heritage House. A 1-hour boat down a small canal will take you on the western shores to Pa-Oh village, with its iconic Buddha.

DAY 12 - INLE LAKE - HEHO - YANGON

Return to Yangon by plane. Upon arrival to the airport, you’ll start your tour on Mahabandoola Road, and discover Yangon downtown.

 

DAY 13 - RETURN

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the US

This sample tour is just an example of a specific itinerary related to the country we just described to give you an idea of what is available in that country when you travel.
