DAY 1 - Arrival in Guyana

Friday May 23rd, 2025

  • Arrive at Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri, Guyana.
  • Meet and greet with local representatives and hosts.
  • Transfer to hotel for check-in and orientation.
  • Brief introduction to the week’s itinerary by the tour coordinators.

Evening:

  • Welcome event: Ann’s Grove BBQ & Lime
  • Experience authentic Guyanese cuisine and hospitality at Ann’s Grove Village.

DAY 2 - Georgetown City Tour

Afternoon:

  • Attend National Independence Day celebrations:

DAY 5 - Santa Mission & Aratack Tour

Tuesday May 27th, 2025

All Day:

  • Travel to Santa Mission and Aratack, two Amerindian villages.
  • Activities include:
    * Engaging with locals through food, traditional dance, and crafts.
    * Learning about the cultural heritage of Guyana’s indigenous communities.
    * Opportunity to purchase handmade crafts and souvenirs.

DAY 6 - Kaieteur Falls Tour

Wednesday May 28th, 2025

All Day:

  • Visit Kaieteur Falls, one of the world’s most powerful single-drop waterfalls.
  • Guided tour through the Guyana rainforest:
  • Explore the unique flora and fauna of the region.
  • Spot wildlife such as the golden frog and cock-of-the-rock birds.
  • Learn about the environmental significance of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

DAY 7 - Linden History Tour

Thursday May 29th, 2025

  • Travel to Linden, an important mining town.
  • Explore the history of bauxite mining, a key industry in Guyana.

  • Visit historical sites and meet local community leaders.

Afternoon:

DAY 8 - Visit to Georgetown Hospital & Guyana School of Nursing

Friday May 30th, 2025

Morning:

  • Visit Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation:

  • Learn about the challenges faced by healthcare providers in resource-limited settings.
  • Presentations by trip participants:
  • Share expertise and discuss innovations in nursing and healthcare.

Travel Insurance

We advise all travelers to purchase travel insurance in case of any unforeseen circumstances and if you are no longer able to travel. We offer the following insurance policies through Allianz Travel Insurance: Basic, Classic, and Classic with cancel anytime. Prices vary with age and amount insured.

Passports and Visas

Passport

Most countries require that a passport be valid for six months beyond the completion of a trip. If your passport expires before December 1, 2025, you must apply to renew your passport.

Visa

If you are not a US citizen please check with the Guyana Consulate Office or a visa agency for the latest requirements. You will also need a re-entry permit to return to the USA
