DAY 1 - DEPARTURE

Departure from JFK

DAY 2 - DELHI, INDIA

Arrival  in Delhi. Layover at Delhi airport until next morning. In order to leave the transit area you will need an entry visa to India. A lounge is available inside the airport but cannot be pre-booked..

DAY 3 - KATHMANDU

Depart Delhi. Arrive in Kathmandu in the morning. Assistance and transfer to hotel Marshyangdi. Sightseeing in Kathmandu. Tour of Bodhnath and Pashupatinath.

 

DAY 4 - KATHMANDU VALLEY

Morning tour of Bhaktapur and Changu Narayan Temple. Afternoon free to purchase trekking supplies.

DAY 5 - KATHMANDU VALLEY

Morning tour of Dakshinakali Temple and Pharping Monastery; Afternoon tour of Patan and Swayambhunath.

Kathmandu – Pokhara

 

DAY 6 - POKHARA

Drive to Pokhara (200km / 5hrs) early in the morning. Check into Hotel Tulsi. Afternoon guided shopping excursion for any necessary trekking supplies; evening at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Tulshi.

Pokhara – Tolka

 

DAY 7 - POKHARA - KANDE

Drive from Pokhara to Kande on the Pokhara – Baglung highway for one hour. Then we take the northern track through sparse settlement on the rugged trail crossing thin forest of rhododendrons and shrubs to Thulo Kharka (Australian Camp) which takes about 2 hours. We further proceed to Pothana 1900m. for lunch stop. Post lunch we walk on gradual ascent to Deorali 2100m. and see a steep descent through the thick forest of rhododendrons on Stone paved stairs to Bhichuk where the trail eases until our first night haltage at Tolka.

Total walking time 6 hours.

 

DAY 8 -

At the first phase we see a gradual descent for one hour to Langdruk a Gurung village which offers the views of Annapurna South and Hyun Chulion the east and the photogenic view of the large Gurung village of Ghandruk on the west. We proceed to Nayapul through Himalpani on an easy trail. After Nayapul we start climbing to Jhinu Danda where lunch will be served. Post lunch we take a steep ascent along the Modi Khola (river) to Chomrung for about 2 hours. Total walking time is 7 hours. Chomrong offers great views of the majestic Himalayas like Annapurna South, the famous Mt. Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Gandarbha Chuli, Tent Peak, Glacier Dom and many others.

DAY 9 - CHOMRONG - DOBHAN

We descend down to the Chomrung Khola and climb uphill to Sinuwa Danda for 2 hours on rugged trail. From Sinuwa we walk uphill through rhododendron forest and ridge to Bamboo forest. After Bamboo forest a walk along Modi Khola through thin vegetation we will reach Dobhan for night haltage. We can’t see any views today. Total walking time 7 hours.

DAY 10 - DOBHAN - DEORALI

We walk through the forest along the Modi Khola on uphill to Himalaya Hotel which offers the view of Mt. Machhapuchhre in different shape than from Pokhara. We further proceed through shrubs crossing the famous Hinco Caveto Deorali for overnight stay. Total walking time 7 hours.

DAY 11 - DEORALI - MACHHAPUCHHRE

We follow the Modi Khola route on uphill to Bagar crossing a short glacier. From Bagar we see further uphill on rugged track to Machhapuchhre Base Camp which is our night staying destination. Machhapuchhre Base Camp offers views of Mt. Machhapuchhre, Glacier Dom, Gangapurna, Tharpu Chuli, Gandarbha Chuli, Tent Peak, Barah Shikhar, Hiun Chuli and Annapurna South. Total walking time 5 hours.

DAY 12 - MACHHAPUCHHRE BASE CAMP TO ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP

We walk uphill to Annapurna Base Camp for 3 hours. Rest of the day is free for individuals activities. The famous Annapurna Base Camp offers the spectacular views of the snow clad mountains as mentioned above. Overnight in the lodge.

 

DAY 13 - ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP TO DEORALI

Morning free. In the afternoon we walk down to Deorali on the same route walking for 6 hours.

DAY 14 - DEORALI TO SIMUWA

Walk on the same route to Sinuwa for 6 hours. Overnight stay at the lodge.

DAY 15 - SINUWA - GHANDRUK

We descend down to Chomrung Khola and take a steep ascent walk to Chomrong Village. After Chomrong we walk on flat land to Taulung and descend down to Kimrung Khola (stream). From there we walk on steep ascent to Komrong Dandathrough thick forest for 2 hours. From Komrong Danda we can enjoy the views of all mountains of the Annapurna range with the landscape views of the farmlands. We reach Ghandruk for overnight having walked for 7 hours. Ghandruk is a large Gurung village rich in traditional culture predominantly resided by the ex Gurkha Army. We can go on exploring the village should one feel still energetic. Overnight at the lodge.

DAY 16 - GHANDRUK - NAYAPUL - POKHARA

We walk all the way long on a gradual descent to Seuli Bazaar along the left flank of the Modi Khola. From Seuli Bazar the trail eases and our walk continues through flat farmlands until Birethanti. We cross Modi Khola there and walk another one hour to Nayapul to end of our trek and drive back to Pokhara. Total walking time 4 hours. Check into Hotel Tulsi.

DAY 17 - POKHARA KATHMANDU

Drive back to Kathmandu (200km/5hrs). On the trip back to Kathmandu, we will stop at Manakamana Mandir, one of the most important temples in Nepal, to view the blood sacrifices to the goddess Kali. Free afternoon and evening in Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel Marshyangdi.

 

DAY 18 - RETURN

Departure to return to Delhi and connect with your flight going back to the U.S.A.

DAY 19 - ARRIVAL
