Arrival Leipzig. Settle at the hotel. Tour starts at 6:00 PM when participants will meet with their travel companions and Dr. Tuncel at the hotel for a welcome dinner.
Breakfast followed by guided walking tour focussing on places relating to Nietzsche. 2 hour guide services with specialist in classical music. (Same guide as for Music in Leipzig).
Leave Leipzig after breakfast and drive to the village of Rocken, near Lutsen, the birthplace of Nietzsche which includes the Parish Church, the Village School and a family grave (2 hour stop). Continue to Naumburg and visit the House where Niezsche spent some time after his father died. before moving to Schulpforta, the place where he went to high school. Arrive to Weimar in the evening and check-in at your hotel for 3 nights.
Morning excursion to Jena. Visit the place where Nietzsche underwent mental treatment in a local clinic from November 1889 to February 1890. Afternoon at leisure.
Breakfast followed by walking guided tour. Visit Goethe House, Nietzsche’s archives and Schiller House.
Morning drive from Weimar to Bayreuth: Visit Richard Wagner Museum and the Festival Theatre. Continuation to Basel (514 kms / approximately 6 hour drive).
Morning city tour. Walking tour following the steps of Nietzsche in Basel. Visit Basel University where he taught for 10 years. (8 hour guide services).
8:00 AM: Early departure towards Lucerne and stop in Tribschen to visit Richard Wagner House Museum. Continuation to Sils Maria. Visit Nietzsche house – museum. Farewell dinner in Sils Maria and overnight in hotel nearby.
Morning drive to Zurich airport. Return flight out of Zurich airport should be no earlier than 2:00 PM.
