DAY 1 - Depart JFK

Thursday January 7th, 2027

The journey will commence with an overnight, non-stop flight to Dublin, Ireland. This transatlantic segment is scheduled with Aer Lingus, flight number 105. The departure is set for 9:00 pm from John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York. Passengers should be prepared for an evening departure followed by an overnight flight, arriving in the Irish capital the following morning.

DAY 2 - Morning Arrival and City Introduction

Arrive in Dublin at 8:40 am, where you will be met by your assistant for a private transfer. Immediately following arrival, embark on an orientation tour of Dublin, led by a guide, to see the central city’s most recognized landmarks.

DAY 3 - Dublin - Trinity College, Book of Kells & National Museum of Ireland

Begin your morning with a full breakfast served at your hotel, providing the perfect fuel for a day of exploration and discovery.

Following breakfast, prepare for a scheduled morning coach departure, marking the start of a full-guided day of immersive sightseeing. This comprehensive service is allocated for nine (9) hours, ensuring ample time to explore the key historical and cultural landmarks.

The morning itinerary is dedicated to some of the city’s most iconic highlights. This includes a pre-arranged, essential entrance to Trinity College Dublin, Ireland’s oldest university. Within its historic walls, you will have the privilege of visiting the Old Library and witnessing the world-renowned Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript of the four Gospels, a true masterpiece of early Irish art.

In the afternoon, the exploration continues with a fascinating visit to the National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology. Here, you will be transported back in time as you view extensive collections that chronicle Ireland’s ancient past, featuring exquisite prehistoric gold artefacts, Viking relics, and celebrated bog bodies, offering deep insight into the island’s rich archaeological heritage.

DAY 4 - From Dublin to the Heart of the Irish West – Athlone, Clonmacnoise, and the Bunratty Medieval Experience

Begin your day with breakfast at your hotel before checking out. Please ensure all your luggage is ready for loading, as today marks the beginning of your journey with your Long Distance Coach (LDC) and a transition into the rich history and dramatic landscapes of Ireland’s West.

Morning Journey and Historical Immersion

Our coach will depart promptly at 9:00 am from your hotel. Our first destination is the historic town of Athlone, a journey covering approximately 125 km and an estimated 2 hours of scenic driving.

  • 9:00 am: Depart from the hotel with your Long Distance Coach (LDC).
  • 11:00 am (Approx.): Arrive in , strategically located on the River Shannon.

11:15 am: Clonmacnoise Monastic Site

Upon arrival near Athlone, we will proceed directly to the awe-inspiring ruins of Clonmacnoise. Your entrance to the Clonmacnoise monastic site is included.

  • Experience: Clonmacnoise, a significant center of learning and religion since the 6th century, offers a profound glimpse into Ireland’s Golden Age. Explore the round towers, ancient high crosses, and the ruins of a cathedral and several churches, all situated in a beautiful, tranquil setting on the banks of the River Shannon. Allow ample time to wander the grounds and reflect on the site’s historical importance.

Midday Break

Following your visit to Clonmacnoise, you will have time to enjoy lunch on your own. Athlone offers various charming pubs and cafés where you can savor local Irish cuisine and take a brief rest before the afternoon’s journey.

Afternoon Drive and Arrival at Bunratty

  • 2:00 pm:  continue our drive from Athlone 
  • Journey: This leg covers approximately 142 km, taking an estimated 2 hours. Enjoy the picturesque views as we head southwest, crossing into County Clare.
  • 4:00 pm (Approx.): Arrive in the Bunratty area.

Free Time and Preparation

Upon arrival, you will have some free time to relax, explore the immediate vicinity, or prepare for the highlight of the evening. This is a perfect opportunity to visit the Bunratty Folk Park (optional, self-guided visit) or simply enjoy a quiet moment.

Evening Medieval Extravaganza

  • 5:30 pm: Dinner at Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet Evening
    • Venue: The magnificent 15th-century Bunratty Castle.
    • Experience: Step back in time for a truly unique dining event. The Sinner at Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet Evening is a grand affair held in the castle’s great hall, complete with costumed performers and an atmosphere of historical revelry.
    • Menu: Indulge in the specially prepared Bunratty Medieval Menu, a traditional feast. 
    • Entertainment: The evening features a spectacular dinner show with traditional Irish music and dance, performed by the Bunratty Castle singers. The meal is served in the authentic Medieval Banquet dinner style, adding to the immersive experience.

Late Evening Transfer to Galway

Following the conclusion of the banquet:

  • 7:45 pm: We will begin the transfer to Galway, a journey of approximately 86 km, estimated to take 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • 9:00 pm (Approx.): Arrive in Galway City.
  • Check-in: Proceed directly to check in at your hotel in Galway. The rest of the evening is at your leisure to settle in and prepare for the next day’s adventures along the Wild Atlantic Way.

DAY 5 - Fly Dublin → JFK

Cancellations

Cancellations, Penalties and Fees per person
All changes and cancellations must be provided in writing. The following penalties apply with the number of days prior to departure:.

  • Whole group cancellation before utilization date: $300 
  • Name changes $300 
  • Name corrections: $150  – we will try to get a waiver if error is minimal
  • Cancellation after ticketing: 100% of tour cost.

Passport

Most countries require that a passport be valid for six months beyond the completion of a trip. If your passport expires before July 15, 2027, you must apply to renew your passport.

Visa

If you are not a US citizen please check with the Consulate of Ireland or a visa agency for the latest requirements. You will also need a re-entry permit to return to the USA.
